A report by ECDB on personal luxury goods compares the share of luxury companies per market (counted in number of companies, not size of companies) to the market’s share of e-commerce sales.
France’s lead in online sales is due to the luxury conglomerates LVMH and Kering, and their embrace of e-commerce. France appears to have fewer individual luxury companies than Italy, but dominates online sales due its popular Maisons such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Dior.
